▓ Shag: Fur is an environment plug-in for 3D Studio MAX that is ▓
▒ used to add fur (and to a small degree long hair) to an object's ▒
░ surface. Since it does not create geometry for individual hairs, ░
it is quick and even though no real geometry is generated, fur
can cast and receive shadows and hilights. Shag: Fur allows you
to control exactly where the fur is applied, the density, color,
thickness, direction, leaning and bend of the hairs. What's more,
separate texture maps can be used for most of these options to
provide complete control. For example a texture map of a tiger
skin can be used for fur color so that the fur hairs derive their
color from the map image, while a separate map can be used to
control where the hairs are thick and thin. Almost all of these
parameters are animatable, so subtle motion, growing and color
changes are all possible.
